UPDATE!!!
After being temporarily suspended for a year, the good news is that we will restart soon. For more information or to put your/your son's name down please contact us.
Cubs are the next section of the Scout Association after Beavers and are aged between 8 and 10½. Our uniform is a dark green jumper with our group necker so we easily stand out!
Like the other sections, the Cubs have a promise -
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen,
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law
The Cub Scout Law is -
Cub Scouts always do their best,
think of others before themselves and do a good turn every day.
They also have a motto like the rest of the Scouting sections -
Be Prepared
 |
We can make our promise after we have been coming for a while and we have found out about all the family of Scouts and what we will be able to do as Beavers. We are then given a Membership Award badge to sew onto our uniform. If we have been a Beaver we already have our membership badge so we receive a Moving on badge instead |
The Cub Programme is split into 6 different sections -
Beliefs and Attitudes |
Community |
Fitness |
Creative |
Global |
Outdoor and Adventure |
Cubs have lots of fun making things, playing games, exploring the world around them which fit easily into these zones. This makes sure that we are continually getting a varied and fun programme that is suited to us!
We can also work towards challenge badges as a colony. To gain a challenge badge we need to complete at least 4 different activities based around the 6 programme sections. Then we get to wear more badges on our uniforms! We also have an extra Outdoor badge to work towards as well.
We can also work towards Activity Badges on our own. There are 33 different ones plus 6 staged badges so there is something for everyone to work on. We can choose which ones we want to work on and we don't have to them in any particular order either.
Here is a selection of badges -

| When we reach the time to become a Scout we can work towards out moving on badge. It helps us learn about Scouts and we can wear the badge on our cub uniform to show that we have been a Cub. |
