The 1st Thurnby Brownies are full of energy and always ready for an adventure! The girls are aged between 7 and 10 and enjoy a varied programme with their Leaders.

A group of Brownies is called a pack. Most Brownie packs are divided into smaller groups called sixes.

The sixes in our pack are -

Elves,	Gnomes,	Imps,	and Sprites.

We are helped by different animals in the Brownie forest

Little Owl	Snowy Owl,	Rabbit,	and Squirrel.

Like the other sections we have our very own uniform. Some of the mums may remember their days as a Brownie when the uniform was different but the colours have remained the same. We can choose from a variety of items including t-shirt, trousers and zipped-jumper. The uniform can be bought from a variety of shops including our local trading store at County Office.

When new girls start with us they are given a book which tells them all the important information about becoming a Brownie. They are also paired up with an older Brownie who will be their 'buddy'!

We enjoy meeting new girls and hope that they want to make their promise. This is when they receive their yellow promise badge and an enrollment certificate.

	I promise that I will do my best, to love my God, to serve the Queen and my country and to keep the Brownie Guide Law.	A Brownie thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day.

When we are enrolled we take part in many activities in our 'Brownie Adventure' programme. We can also work towards various interest badges. No-one has to have the same badges - we can do the badges that interest us. This makes us feel special as we are all different. Here are some of the badges....

When we are 10 we move on to Guides but to help us make the change we can start on Go for It! Guides which links in with the Guide programme. We sometimes have a leaving party as well.
