Beavers are the youngest section of the Scout Association and are aged between 6 and 8. Our uniform is a simple turquoise jumper so you can easily see us having lots of fun!
 |
We have a beaver mascot who enjoys Beavers just as much as we do! Our mascot is called Barry and most weeks he gets to go on different adventures with us. |
Like the other sections, the Beavers have a promise -
I promise to do my best,
to be kind and helpful and to love God.
and a motto -
Be Prepared
 |
We can make our promise after we have been coming for a while and we have found out about all the family of Scouts and what we will be able to do as Beavers. We are then given a Membership Award badge to sew onto our uniform |
The Beaver Programme is split into 6 different sections -
Beliefs and Attitudes |
Community |
Fitness |
Creative |
Global |
Outdoor and Adventure |
All the fun that Beavers have by making things, playing games, exploring the world around them fit easily into these zones which makes sure that we are continually getting a varied and fun programme that is suited to us!
We can also work towards challenge badges as a colony. To gain a challenge badge we need to complete at least 4 different activities based around the 6 programme sections. Then we get to wear more badges on our uniforms!
We can also work towards Activity Badges on our own. There are 12 different ones plus 6 staged badges so there is something for everyone to work on. We can choose which ones we want to work on and we don't have to them in any particular order either.
Here is a selection of badges -
| When we reach the time to become a cub we can work towards out moving on badge. It helps us learn about Cubs and we can wear the badge on our cub uniform to show that we have been a Beaver. |

The Beavers meet during term-time, if you would like more information please contact us.
